Good morning!
A reminder that this year on 29 June I turn 55. I am celebrating my birthday today, 26 June 2026, in the evening from 18:00 at my home and workplace in Kiiu, Tehase tn 1.

Please note — between Kiiu and Kuusalu, three turnings lead from the Vana-Narva road into Tehase Street. The one that brings you to me is the one furthest towards Narva, a very small turning right before the big galvanising plant Galv Est’s fence, past the wood chip heap, leading to a small single-storey grey house.
If you are struggling with transport, do let me know.
By public transport it is also very convenient, if you do not mind walking a kilometre along the cycle and footpath. Until late in the evening the buses between Tallinn and Loksa pass here, more than ten times a day. You can find them at https://peatus.ee/ by searching for the stop Kuusalu kool, Harjumaa, Kuusalu vald. This stop is about a kilometre from me towards Narva. The Kiiu stop towards Tallinn is about as close, but there are several stops there and different buses stop in different places.
There is plenty of room next to the house for camping, and there is also room indoors on the floor to stay the night.
This evening the weather looks dry but probably not too hot. It promises to be a beautiful long evening. There is a lawn at the end of the house. My good friend Villu Veski promised to play the sax on the lawn to entertain the guests. I tried to find out but never learned whether he will bring a friend or two. My good acquaintance Priit Adler already brought some tables and benches yesterday. Tõnis Peensalu of Peensalu köök promised, to make life easier for those who like a drink, to bring some empty schnapps and beer glasses to the snack table, into which you can pour the drinks you have brought. My colleague Tiit Parro even fixed up an ashtray on the table in front of the house so that nobody has to disturb others on the lawn by smoking.
My colleague Neeme Vaino promised to introduce his work on Katevara’s line of bitumen recycling https://katevara.ee/recycling/et/
Even my employer Teet Enok from Jõhvi would have come, but apparently he is not free today because of his daughter Pippi Lotta Enok’s sports activities.
For those who cannot make it, the local photographer Ille Aaviksaar https://www.pildike.ee/ promised to take some pictures. Led by my friend Ando Urbas, they may even get some of the pictures moving and add sound to them. Then it will be good for me and for you to remember alongside our patchy memories.
You are welcome in Kiiu this evening.
