21.01.2026 About my health

Hello friends and acquaintances,
I need to talk to you about my health, because I need your help.
I have a serious form of diabetes, which has been complicated by earlier health problems. As you know, last year I survived blood poisoning — it was directly related to diabetes. When my blood sugar rises, my body loses control in many ways and for several days it is very hard for me to sleep, move, even think. My quality of life deteriorates drastically.
I know that many of you are kind people who are used to bringing a little something when you visit, and I am always grateful for your thoughtfulness. But here is a heartfelt request:
Please do not bring me any foods that raise blood sugar: no sweets, no fruit, no drinks, and not even salty carbohydrate-rich snacks such as biscuits, crisps or potatoes.
Four mandarins or a handful of sweets can turn my world upside down for several days. I know it sounds dramatic, but it is my reality.
If you still want to bring something, black or green tea or vegetables (root vegetables, garden vegetables) are always welcome.
I know this may seem an awkward request, but I have to take care of my health.
Thank you for understanding.
